My favorite trends at the moment

Honestly, I've never been someone who is very up to date with what is trending in fashion. Usually because whatever's on trend is not really my proverbial cup of tea. Lately, however, i've noticed that some of this season's biggest trends are so my style. I'm going to show you three of this season's biggest trends and tell you about why I love them and how to I like to style them.

Button-down denim
Whether it's skirts or dresses, I'm absolutely in love with this look. It's extremely 70's. As I've mentioned before on this blog, I love pairing denim with stripes. Honestly, there's no better pairing in my style-book. Also loving the denim-on-denim! I already have a skirt and a dress in this style, but I just went ahead and ordered another one. Oops.

Adidas Stan Smith
These have been on my wish list forever, and I'm thinking I might soon just go ahead and buy them. Yep, the Adidas Stan Smiths have been heavily trending and I'm late to the party. I especially love them paired with skirts or dresses, and I love that there are a ton of variations now. But I'm thinking I should get the classic white-green ones.

Off-shoulder tops and dresses
My absolute favorite trend for the summer. This style is so girly and beautiful, and I like that it shows some skin without getting tacky. This is especially perfect because I don't have a lot of cleavage to work with and I think this style works a lot better for me. Topshop and Zara have some really pretty ones!

How to nail the ultimate shoe essentials

Anyone who knows me, knows I don’t have a ton of shoes. Well, that’s a lie, I own a lot of shoes, but the pairs I actually wear can be counted on one hand. I’m currently alternating between three pairs: a pair of vintage ankle boots, cowboy-shoes from Topshop and a pair of pointed brogues.

I just think it’s important to invest in a few good items that you’ll want to wear all the time. First off, I’ve ruled out pleather. I was often tempted to buy €20 high-street shoes just because I liked the design, but I noticed that that was an absolute waste of money because you never end up choosing them over comfortable high quality shoes.

Basically I've learned that the less choice you give yourself in shoes and narrow your shoe closet down to a few iconic essentials, it's so much easier to get dressed in the morning because they will go with basically anything. Let me show you some ways to style the perfect classic shoes.

Brogues
Everybody needs a pair of classic brogues, but you can definitely experiment a bit with them. These white ones with a chunky sole add a bit of edge to a classy party outfit. Plus they're comfortable!

Ankle boots
Ankle boots go with everything, and recently I've been in love with pointed ones. I feel like they're great for any kind of city girl outfit with a girly touch. I'd picture Alexa Chung wearing these, strolling around in Brooklyn.

Chunky heels
Surely everybody loves a good heel, and if you're anything like me, it can't hurt to be a bit taller. What can hurt, however, are uncomfortable heels. That's why I always stick with chunky ones to ensure a certain amount of stability to help me in my constant fight with gravity. I'd style a chunky heel with a 70's vibe.
