Förlåt

I'm sorry I haven't been answering any of your mails lately. It's just seems like all the suckyness in the universe gathered itself in the past week. Okay, maybe it's not that bad, but I had to leave Sweden, I had to start school again and my flatmate moved and it's up to me to find a new flatmate. First I thought it would be a great opportunity for me and Daniel to live together. After a lot of talking and thinking and calculating we decided we couldn't afford this right now without going into huge debt, plus it was all too much to arrange in such a short time (he had to quit his job, he had to find a job here, we had to move his stuff here, we have to buy a lot of new furniture, he has to get a new insurance, he didn't know what to do with EF etc etc). So yeah, that was the good news I was hoping to give you.

However, we are making real plans now. I found a lovely girl who wants to live with me for now, and come january or so Daniel will come this way. We will start looking for jobs and appartments and take our time to arrange things properly.

So I'm ok now. I'd rather do this the right way.

Now I'm going to try to fix the hot water so I can take a shower and try to make this a good day.

Thank you all again for being so lovely to me during these stressful times. I will be back soon for real.

not a good day

Today is going to be a day of packing, crying, saying goodbye to my friends, saying goodbye to the summer and saying goodbye to my everyday life here.

I’m leaving heavenly Sweden and I’ll come back to a big big mess in Amsterdam.

There might be a little light at the end of this 2-year-and-1084-km-long tunnel and I hope to be able give you all some great news at the end of next week. But I'm not sure if it will happen and the doubt is breaking me down.

I'm going to start a Tumblr with my Flickr-favorites, my own work and things I find around the internet. I don't know how long and how often I'll keep it up though.

Way Out Wedding

On Way Out Wests second day we skipped the festival and went to Johanna and Sebastians wedding. Sebastian is Daniels younger brother.

I wore the second hand dress I altered. Here you can also see my new haircut! It's quite a lot shorter but it looks better, I think. A lot easier to handle, too.

The wedding was lovely. We were a small party; just family and close friends. After the mass there was a 90s-themed party in a cave. It was awesome! Unfortunately it was too darkish to take pictures.

Daniel looked amazing suited up. His tie is from Topman, the trousers are Cheap Monday and the wonderful jacket is from H&M. I wish he would look like this every day. Our niece Tuva also looked adorable in her little sailor-dress.

Way Out West

Time for Way Out West! We started on thursdaynight by going to Junip and Caribou. We wanted to do more but we were soaked with rain so that took a bit of our partylust away.
On friday it was time for the festival!
We saw Panda Bear first. However much I love Panda Bear and Animal Collective, I didn't think Panda Bears live set was that great. Danny Perez was there and he made live visuals, that was cool though.
Then we took a foodbreak with fries and burgers.

My eyes looked weird, so sorry for the crop. Just wanted to show you my lovely new dress from Modcloth. My cardigan is from Zara and the shoes are from Topshop.

We saw a part of Beach House and Wu Tang Clan and then we went back to the apartment for a while to meet up with Danny's parents who just arrived to Gothenburg. On the way out of the press/VIP area I ran into KIRSTEN DUNST but she was wearing sunglasses so I wasn't sure it was her until I read it in the newspaper the next day. I would have LOVED to photograph her. Balls.
Then we watched The National with lovely Thomas and I had to pose with him.

Sofia's nailpolish was the exact same colour as my wristband!
Iggy iggy iggy. He was great.
There was a zeppelin.
Then it was time for Jonsi. I really liked their visuals but it wasn't as cosy and wonderful as when I saw Jonsi in Amsterdam.

Beautiful Elke and Carl were standing in the first row, they really enjoyed it.

About halfway through the Jonsi set we left to see LCD Soundsystem. This way I got to see a little bit of both, so I didn't feel so bad (I was complaining about this in an earlier post).

Next up were The XX, who I didn't like that much but they had really nice light.

Then we partied a bit more in the VIP-area (didn't it look lovely?). But because Daniels brother was getting married the next day we called it an early night and didn't go to any clubs.

The next day we went to the wedding and it was lovely. Pictures will follow later.

On saturdaynight Daniel played at Stay Out West (Jazzhuset) with his band EF. It was wonderful and there were so many people there! Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures, so if anyone has any, feel free to send them to me! I'd love to see some.

11th of August

A little update on what I've been doing over the past few days!

Today I went to the hairdresser for the first time in years and I got a real haircut. Nothing spectacular, just chopped a few centimeters off and added some layers. My hair was so dry and shapeless. Pictures are coming up in the next post!

Over the weekend Frederik and Kris from Ghent were visiting Gothenburg.

Photos by selftimer and Frederik.

On both saturday and monday we saw our friends Claes Strängberg and Loney Dear, together with the wonderful Frida Sundemo, who I don't have pictures of, unfortunately.

Yesterday we saw José Gonzales with a symphony orchestra, which was incredibly beautiful! I got goosebumps all over when he played Massive Attack's Teardrop. Gothenburg has its big culture festival this week, so there's things going on all the time throughout the whole city.

This is my neighbours' crazy cat. He is always sitting on the windowsill, watching over our little garden.

On saturday Daniel's little brother is getting married! This is a little preview of what we're going to look like. I bought the dress in a secondhandshop and I altered it a LOT. By hand cause I don't have a sewing machine here. It was far too big and too long but I fell in love with the colour and the fabric.

Later that night Daniel will be playing at Way Out West with his band EF. They're on around 1:00AM at Jazzhuset! Check out the facebook-event here.

Also, remember that you can ask me anything you want right here:

skärgårdskärlek

My dress is from a local store
My shoes are from Topshop

We fled the city and took a boat to a random archipelago, we let ourselves be surprised. It was beautiful. It's only 20 minutes away and it really feels like being on holiday. Another funny thing is that it had been raining in Gothenburg all day, but we had amazing weather! Oh, how I love summer in Sweden.
