This moment of the year is always quite bittersweet. Especially in the Netherlands it feels like one day it's summer, and the next day it's full on fall. It went so fast that I haven't really had time to prepare for fall fashion, because honestly fall fashion always kind of bums me out, because it means the sun dresses are banished to the back of my closet. This year, however, I'm quite excited about fall fashion because everything is très retro.
You'll find a 70's vibe all across the shops and I'm so in love with. Some would argue that it's too much, but when I walk past shop windows and I see all the burgundies, mustards, camels and emeralds, my heart skips a beat. Today I want to share some fall essentials with you so you can really rock that retro look.
These babies have been trying to make a comeback for quite a while now, but I feel like this year is the year that we'll finally really start to trade our skinnies for flares again. I actually even find it hard to find a pair of skinny jeans nowadays, because the world has decided we're all about flares and culottes now. Might take some getting used to, especially if, like me, you only get around by bike and you have to make sure your flares don't get stuck anywhere.
Winter, spring, summer or fall, the half-boots are always an essential in my book. They're basically all I ever wear, and I love the retro vibe they give off when you wear these with dresses and skirts. Why do I think they're the best footwear around? They're cool enough in the summer, but they're warm enough in fall and winter. You can even stomp around puddles with them, unless you get suede ones like the burgundy stunners pictured above.
This is another one of my favorites that you might have seen me wearing a lot already. I love showing off my legs, and I like to balance that out by not being too sexy on top. So what I usually do is I'll wear a dress and layer it with either a button-up or a turtleneck or a longer-sleeved tee. Perfect for fall, when short sleeves just won't fly anymore but you're not ready to say goodbye to your dresses.
Blogging is a relatively new 'job' and it's constantly evolving. Even more than I realise, sometimes. I know I don't give this blog enough attention because, well, I'm obsessed with Instagram. However, I've found another way to express my emotional exhibitionism: vlogging!
I've made two video's for NSMBL, but they're mostly in Dutch. The Trainwreck interviews are in English, so you can check those if you want! Amy Schumer, Vanessa Bayer, Bill Hader and Judd Apatow are absolutely hilarious. It was so fun meeting my heroes Bill and Judd.
