A weekend in Paris with Peugeot

So a while ago I got a mysterious e-mail asking if I wanted to come to Paris for an unforgettable 'eXperYence'. I'm always up for a trip to Paris, especially if I get to bring a friend, so I said yes. On Saturday morning my bestie Michelle and I were on a plane to Paris, not really knowing what to expect, but just deciding not to expect too much of it. We'll have fun together anyway.

When we landed at Charles De Gaulle we were welcomed by a driver with a very awesome car. He took us to this lovely hotel called Mama Shelter. Definitely a recommendation if you're looking for a place to stay in Paris. The design was perfectly quirky. Our driver told us to enjoy our day and that he'd pick us up at the hotel in the evening.

First we checked out the room. A bottle of champagne awaited us, which is always a sign that it's going to be a good day. Then we decided to just go and tear up Rue Saint Honoré. Walking around Colette and The Kooples and crying silently about all the pretty things we can't or shouldn't buy.

When we got back to the hotel, we popped the bottle of champagne while getting ready for the mystery event. Our driver came to pick us up in the pretty pretty car with white leather interior and the panoramic glass roof. We drove through the center of Paris past all the iconic landmarks.

When we got to the Champs-Élysées the driver pulled over at the Peugeot store. Here we are! I've actually been to this Peugeot store several times before because they always have such an awesome in-store design.

Turns out a small group of bloggers and journalists from all over Europe were brought to Paris for the launch of the new Peugeot 208 XY! Kind of had to squeeze my arm when I realized I was the only one from Holland. More info about the car can be found here. After a short presentation from the designer of the car we were treated to an amazing dinner by chef Christophe Pelé.

Was lucky enough to have some great table company, we sat and dined on tons of courses for hours. Especially the four desserts were insanely good. And of course the wine that came with every course. After the dinner some of us dove into the Parisian nightlife until super late. Or early, really.

The next morning Michelle and I were in a bit of a rough state, so we were happy we didn't plan anything for the second day. We just wandered around Montmartre hoping to get energized by the cold snowy air, gawked at all the beautiful people of Paris and had burgers.

Million thanks to Peugeot, Michelle, Mama Shelter and everyone else who made this a lovely weekend. Hope to be back in Paris very soon.

Liars t-shirt, skirt from Topshop, backpack from Chicnova

I bought this t-shirt at a Liars gig back in 2008 and not a week has gone by where I haven't worn it. It's the most comfortable piece of clothing I own, so I often just wear it when lazing about on the couch. Feels a bit funny to style it in an 'actual outfit'!

Dress from Jones & Jones

Okay, here are my two favorite items as of late: My H&M leather jacket and this dress from Jones & Jones. This outfit is basically all I've been wearing lately, but can you blame me? I've always wanted a dress like this; it's chic, the perfect cut, length and quality. I like that you can dress it up to be super fancy, or just wear it with a leather jacket to give an unexpected casual touch.

Song of the day: Local Natives - Heavy Feet. Ugh, so good. I did an interview with Local Natives a while ago, you can read it here.
